Mike Pinchen's Retirement after 31 Years Service - Onboard H.M.S Belfast
Dear All,
A few lines of thanks for those of you who attended my retirement function on HMS Belfast; for Sheila and myself it was a memorable night, and I couldn’t of asked for more.
I will always remember my days at Euston, which in some ways was a sort of love-hate relationship, and would not have wished to have served the majority of my time anywhere else.
As I said on the night, (and I know there is a lot of politics flying around at the moment), you really do make a difference to people’s lives, because at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter what politicians say or do, (or don’t do), it is people like yourselves, at the sharp end of the job, who actually deliver to people on the street! Without that delivery everything else is padding!
I now move on to pastures new and fresh challenges; however I will always remember with pride my service in the Brigade, particularly at Euston, and many of the wonderful people, (and some less so), I was fortunate enough to serve with.
Great effort with the site, keep it up, and thanks for publishing the pics of the night, and my fraternal regards to you all.
“Keep the faith and keep doing the good”.
Mick Pinchen
