Crews shown wearing Chemicall Protection Suits

Crews from Paddington, Manchester Square, Euston and Kensington attended this four pump chemical incident at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington on 13 May. Crews in CPS worked with a site engineer to deal with a leakage of 1,000 litres of hydrochloric acid in a basement boiler room. The acid had discharged into a leaked into the wall and into the main drainage system. The remaining residue was neutralised with soda ash and the surrounding drains were flushed with copious amounts of water.
