Hi My name is xxx xxxxxxxand I used to be a FF on the white @xxxxxxx
Any one there can vouch for me (well I did leave 6 years ago so most could
:-)) I am now in Essex. Is there any chance of you forwarded me SOHOs
phone number as I am coming to the west end on sat night and would like
permission to leave my car there for the evening Please.
many thanks....
'Hiya,
This is the 8th Soho this, Soho that, email I've had this week,,,,,,,
and the second just today, I'm still waiting for the Americans to turn
their computers on and begin the quest to contact Soho,
Euston is a 5 minute walk away, and has a yard 4 times the size of Soho's
why doesn't anyone try to park here,
even on our guest page the latest entry is from a 14 year old kid who
went there one time,
In fact these rants of mine are getting quite professional, i think i
might save it as a draught and just paste it as a reply.
So rather than try to phone up Euston or xxxxxxx? and get someone to give
me a number for Soho, or even search the internet a little longer for
Soho's unnoficial website address, ill just pop to the back of my mind
and grab it for you off the top of my head,
its xxxxxxxxxxxx or xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thats the internal number as two years ago the brigade saw fit to remove
all public phones for the brigade, oh, and you cant carry a mobile as
there not intrinsically safe, or whatever,
Top Tip, Soho's yard is tiny, park and ride at Euston, as the Soho guys
cant even get their own cars in the yard, itll take the strain off of
them having to say no !!
Not even a well done, great website......cheers, thanks, nothing
Euston's is xxxx, we have space, they dont, seeing as every LFB member
who always hated them but never did a saturday night there, wants to park
at some time.
Ed'

Dear Station Officer
A Japanese TV company (Telesearch) is interested in making a programme
which features the Kings Cross Fire of 1987. It seems that the story was
not
really covered in Japan at the time, they are now interested in exploring
what happened and making the Japanese public aware of the incident.
We would like to talk to some Fire Officers who were on duty that day
and
who are happy to talk about their memories of the incident.
Would it be possible to speak to someone briefly over the phone? Do you
have any memories of the incident that you would be willing to talk about
over the phone?
Many thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind Regards,
Kerry Masters

Dear Euston,
I have tried Glenns curry and found it to be delightfully tasty, if a
little burnt tasting. And quite heavy going, but otherwise very pleasant.
One question though - is this "Glenn" as handsome in real life
as he is in the photos? And would he like a pen-pal from Spain?
Can we have a photo of him bare-chested/naked torso for our calender?
preferably on the website.
we are 2 single girls making our way in the world on internet and could
do with some hunky men.
Sorry my english not so good.

Hi, ive read your commentary about the removal of the pump at your station
and I completely concur with your analysis of the purse string situation
and the way Fire death's are most certainly going to be manipulated or
if you like sexed up. It's quite frightening when you think that these
morons are playing with peoples lives both public and Fire-fighters and
are paid a massive salary to do this ( Save money ) these faceless individuals
are never bought to book either when it hits the proverbial fan.
As a member of the public I salute you and all your brave work mates.

The members of the Euston Fire Station:
On Friday, May 26, 2006, I visited your fire station with
the hope of obtaining a shirt to bring back for my husband, who is a Lieutenant
with the Levittown Volunteer Fire Department in New York. I didn't call
to schedule an appointment, but just walked up and rang the bell, quite
spontaneously. Richard took time out to show me the trucks and equipment
and chatted with me about life at the London Fire Brigade. I visited for
almost an hour and found it all very enlightening. My husband absolutely
loved the shirt and pictures I took and I especially want to thank Richard
for taking time out of his busy day to conduct public relations. I'll
be sure to brag to everyone here how hospitable the Euston Fire Station
is.
And if any of you brave souls find your way to New York,
I hope we can return the favor.
All the best,
Donna M. Zeiser

Hello Euston,
Just a line to say how good-a job I think you are doing with this web

Hello Euston,
we think the site's great! we know wolfy v.well lol ! also sos in the
office. we would like to see more green watch photos.
YOURS SINCERELY MICHELLE AND KATIE FOX
"Its like this,
Anybody can contribute to the site, and everyone knows this, only Sos
bothers to send in pics and occasionally, write some stuff,
Everyone is always asking for updates,!!
but still anyone can send in stuff, if all watches sent in stories n pic,
the site would be 3 times the size it is,
there is plenty of space for this,
Ive asked and asked and asked, I can do no more,
But still, all the guys at A23 benefit from the site, it shows that this
is a profesional station with one job in mind, striving to be the best
at what we do,
bet you wish you didnt ask now! "

Hello Brothers,
Very cool web-page. Very Interesting. I'm a firefighter in the city of
New Britain, CT, USA. I have been checking the FD sites out in the UK
because our city fire dept. hired a chief from the London Fire Brigade.
His name is Mark Carr, did you ever hear of him? He was a chief in Wandsworth,
London. Just thought you may know him. Thanks again and guys stay safe!
Sincerely,
Paul Walsh

Hi there, Drogheda Fire & Rescue Service in Ireland
here.
Due to an unfortunate accident with our 4 year old ET, we found ourselves
urgently requiring a temporary replacement and came up with the old FRU's
from London, which have been taken off the run. We are just about to buy
one and have listed them in order of preference 1 - H852, 2 - J936, 3
- H854.
Would you have any info on these for us such as what stations they were
in and year of birth?
The machines are in very good condition and we'll touch them up a bit.
The locker layout is excellent and clean. Would you have any information
on what equipment was stored in each locker and where in the locker. I'm
sure we have similar equipment, although next year we are changing to
Holmatro's Core technology.
You help would be greatly appreciated on this matter. When we touch up
the old FRU's, I'll be happy to send on pictures.
Many thanks

Hello to all at Euston,
I was recently staying at down the road in Russell Square. Unfortunately,
I didn't get much time to come up to the station and visit. However, I
did see pumper A232 on the front apron one morning and took a few pictures.
Stay in good health,

Hi all, I was on vacation sept. of 03 visiting England,
Scotland and Wales and for 18 days I stopped at as fire stations as I
could( I now have a nice collection of t-shirts). Through the net I made
contact with Steve from the Poplars station and was able to go with them
on a small fire. Keep up-dating the web site I like to learn more about
other dept.

Hello there, My name is John Lynch. I had the privilege
to serve at A23 during the early 70s, as a Leading Fireman ( Whoops, sorry,
Fire-Fighter). I was on Blue Watch and the Station Officer at the time
was Aggie Weston. I wonder if any of my old colleagues still keep in touch
with the station?.
I left the L.F.B. in 1985 on transfer to Cambridgeshire F&RS, and
retired, through ill health, about 12 years ago. I also served at a number
of other A Div. stations as well as Euston ........, Belsize,
" THE SQUARE", Paddington, Kensington . And also, of course
stand by duties at all the others.
While I was at Paddington, I often went into A Div. Staff as Dickie (
the figures ) Marrs'
shadow. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at all of these station but Euston
meant a lot to me, because I can honestly say that I learned an awful
lot there. If anyone out there remembers me, I would very much like to
hear from them.
All the best lads

Hello all at Euston Fire Station,
I was stationed here on white watch from about 1983 to 1988, I rode the
ET with the likes of Simon Beater, Steve 'Freshy' Freshwater, Dave Scott,
Sub O Ken Wheatley, Sub O Phil Evans and Pete Bundy, Oh Yeah, and do you
remember the Station Officer who kept tripping over the 'dummy'... I left
the LFB in 1988 to go to the USA to join a Fire Dept there, but unfortunately
found out I didn't really like it over there... 'schoolboy error' I suppose.
Anyway, I came back to the UK and am now in the Met Police ( I know !)...
but had to pay the mortgage etc... anyone wants to get in touch e-mail
me at DMJ8912@aol.com.
Dave Hill
(P.S. I wouldn't nick my own mother, despite popular opinion, but I might
nick yours...)
I was quite saddend to here of manchester square closure
because i visited the station amongst others when on holiday in october
2002 amongst other stations in london and was chatting to one of the firefighters
there.I am also concerend about the reduction to one pump only in some
of the other central stations.I am a member of the fire brigade society
scottish branch.Yours Grant.
I watched with a sad heart tonight on BBC London News
the closing of Manchester Square Fire Station. A22 The “Square”
was part of my early life, being posted there from Southwark training
school in 1971 and working in West End until 1983 on Blue and Green watch.
God help all those thousand of people who relied on Man.Sq. in the Marylebone
area who now have no immediate fire cover.
Chris Watts.

Hello all at A23,
You very kindly allowed me to park in your station each day for six weeks
while my good lady wife Eve was receiving radiotherapy at the Middlesex
Hospital in early 2004. It was much appreciated and you are a great bunch.
Cracking website. Stay safe. May our old DO Ken Knight look after your
better interests! Hello Marc Richards, by the way.
